    Angry Cavalry breaching walls?

I have a HUGE problem with being attacked by CAVALRY, losing and being pillaged. It's simply NOT possible for cavalry to attack a FORTIFIED city and win. Give me any proof of that historically and I'll shut my trap. The Huns couldn't do it. The Goths neither. This game could be really good if that is fixed. Otherwise it's just another game with lopsided rules.

You dont understand yet how the defence works. In this game think of the wall def coming off the walls and standing way out in frt of yr city garrison troops. The math component of the wall is jus added to the def aspect of yr wall def. Enemy cav rush into the field def first, spikes etc, then the wall def, scorps. If those are overwhelmed, they move onto the garrison. the garrison troops effectively also come out to play and stand in the open. You should have as many spikes as you can or at least 2500. Garrison troops of 3000 cents, 90k+ cons and 10k+ leg is effective in stopping cav farming.

You are also incorrect on the history comments. Attila virtually walked into Rome in 410AD and sacked it. The mission was gold, not killing (abt 100 died) as they intended to move onto Spain or Africa and find a homeland to settle in. (They never made it). The goth didnt need to invade in the end, they were absorbed into the empire (fled from the Hun over decades) and assumed military and political positions. Western Rome eventually imploded from rot and corruption.
You also may wish to consider Gengis Khan, whose army was basically 1 mill cav at a time when the average size western army was only 30k. Many cities were taken by Khan who went on to wipe out 1/5 of the global population of the day. Hope the above helps.

If I need that many troops the walls are virtually pointless. That is my point. ANY wall can keep out ANY solely mounted force. It's just axiomatic. To me, those walls are all but useless. And kill the playability of the game unless you either very well established or are nowhere near anyone to high a level.

As for the history, you say I'm incorrect, then completely verify my argument. The Huns NOR the Goths could breech the walls of a fortified city. The Goths were allowed into the city of Rome in CE 410. Had that not happened, the siege would have taken longer. Alaric had no siege equipment nor the engineers with which to build them. Attila never sacked a fortified city that wasn't betrayed by someone inside. In fact, the last major battle he fought near Orleans he was severely defeated by Aetius and Theoderic because he had no siege equipment to breach the city walls. It makes no difference how man cavalry you have. History has shown that it is not possible to breech a city wall without treason from within.
