Good afternoon, everyone!
It has been a while since our last Developer Diary and well... a lot has happened!
Within the past couple months, there have been many changes made to the game, some a little more noticeable and controversial than others. While there were definite reasons for these changes, we understand that the execution, planning and communication regarding them could have been better.
I want to make sure you all know that your feedback is definitely being heard and the recent changes are being reviewed and re-reviewed by the development team-- which means that more changes could be on the horizon soon.
While we continue to hunt for and destroy bugs within the game, we also understand that time and effort must be dedicated to the improvement and balance of the current game design.
Some aspects we are currently focusing on include:
- Ensuring that combat is fair and logical to both sides. In The Godfather: Five Families, it's all about proving yourself on the streets of the City, and it is our goal to make this experience fun and logical.
- Balance the "mid-game" experience for all types of players. One of our goals is to take a look at certain content (such as Cityscapes and Estate Combat) and bring more purpose and excitement to these features.
- Creating new and engaging "end-game" content. You've attacked the Level 10 Gangs, leveled up your Estate to the highest level, trained the toughest Unit... so what now? Many new features are currently being planned and designed to answer this question and expand the current end-game experience for individuals and Crews alike.
- Community engagement and involvement. It is our goal to better communicate any upcoming changes with the community (preferably with advanced notice when possible). We would love to tell players what features and changes to expect in the future, but please understand that when it comes to game development, things change all the time and we definitely don't want to get your hopes up about anything and then have it not happen as expected. It's not uncommon for features get delayed or canceled and bug fixes often take longer than anticipated to eradicate. However, our goal is definitely to improve communication with you on a daily basis.
Please keep in mind that these are just a few of the Dev Team's main priorities and these goals are always expanding!
We are so grateful to have so many dedicated and passionate players in the game and the feedback we have received is amazing. After seeing it all, one thing is clear-- players and the Dev Team alike want to make The Godfather: Five Families the best game it can be.
We believe that creating a fun game play experience that engages and entertains all types of players is important, and this is what we will focus on in upcoming months.
Please keep an eye on your in-game message box and the forums to learn about future changes and content!
