How do you attaack something?

I have troops, I have 2 generals appointed, not sure how to do it? I go to the map, I hit attack and when i try to add troops it will not let me bring the troop total above 0?

You also need to have a muster point. To attack select map then find your target and click on the place where you want to attack. Then select troops and general.
