When the resource display at the top of the screen is in the thousands, for example 8.99 k, the counter goes to 9.0k then 9.1k not 9.01k.

It will never display as a number with a hundredth digit (multiplied by a thousand, of course) so it will be 8.9k, and once it gets to 8950 it rounds up to 9k. then when it gets to 9050 it rounds up to 9.1k, etc.
