Exclamation New Respect Change 04/05/12: Please Read!

    Hello everyone!

In a Patch that is scheduled for release later today, there will be a big change to Respect coming that will effect all players.

After this Patch is released, you will no longer lose Respect when your Units are killed in PvE or PvP combat. You will, however, keep the Respect earned for Training those Units. Additionally, you will no longer gain Respect for bailing out Units from Jail, only training them.

This change is designed to encourage everyone to engage in more combat and earn even more Respect with those hard-earned Units. With this change, you can now feel free to attack Gangs, Cityscapes, or other players without the fear of losing Respect when your Units die.

I like the change. However, I am confused on how this works. If a players is defeated in battle, does he gain the respect from units he killed while still losing his own army? Could you provide an example of what your change means in relation to pvp?

That's really stupid. What is the point of playing if there is no consequences for your actions?

So basically you are saying that training troops gives you permanent respect? So, when the troops die, you don't lose respect? That is the dumbest idea you guys have rolled out yet.

I dont like like it! I believe you guys are on the right track, but keeping full respect of a unit killed, should not be the case. Maybe if you halved it instead, so that you lose half the respect of your unit killed, allowing you to still hold on to some respect for training that unit. If you lose a fight you should lose some respect not stay at the same, and this fluctuation of respect becomes important to the game. If a player gets wiped out their respect should be lowered, because they are not strong and people can walk all over them, therefore a loss of respect is deserved. Also this would just raise respect way too much, and as a mostly all pvp player myself, i would hate to lose the reward of personally lowering someone's respect.

Also please respond to all of us in the thread about the butcher boxes, you've got quite a line growing.
