Apply the glitch to ballista it doesnt work
I agree that they do not appear to be in range until round 3. That much we can agree on. The combat rounds are simultaneous. That fact has been proven over and over and is not up for debate in this thread. What I am trying to determine is if there is a scenario in which the speed/range issue effect cavalry.

I have been doing a ton of testing on cav and hc and do not see the issue showing up at all.

What I am looking for is if someone has a series of reports (not just a one off) that can definitively prove the issue to be present on horsed units.

I will be testing archers today to see if they are there as well. I am betting now that this issue only effects troops classified as infantry in the code. That would make the most logical sense to me from a programming standpoint.
I love to use sarcasm. If you don't like it, then don't read my posts or ask for my help. Oh, and do not ask questions that you do not want the answer too. Think before you talk and talk before you type.

Yes, based on all the conversations and reports that I have been able to generate and look over, this is how the glitch works.

You have an extra 30 on round 1 however. I think I may have posted it somewhere else, I can re-post mine or go get Geoff's post. They are the same thing.

Should look a bit more like this, but what you need to take into account is the actual movement as well as the range. What you are showing here is the range check issue, what you are missing is the accumulated movement of the troops as well. lemme explain:

    Range Checks
    1)30
    2)335
    3)640
    4)945
    5)1250
    6)1555
    etc

Literal, what this means is that on round 6, the swords have a RANGE of 1555!!!!

Now, you need to actually have the swords move on the battle field toward them lvl 11 fletch cats:

Each round the swords move 275 correct. The cat range is 2325 so lets look at distance and range check:

1)range on battle field is 2325 - sword range check is 30 out of range
2)range on battle field is 2050 - sword range check is 335 out of range
3)range on battle field is 1775 - sword range check is 640 out of range
4)range on battle field is 1500 - sword range check is 945 out of range
5)range on battle field is 1225 - sword range check is 1250 swords attack

So, it is actually fairly easy to track and keep in a table. just add the range and the speed together (in this case 275 and 30 for a total of 305) and add that to the initial range for each subsequent round.

If anywhere in here I am wring or someone has a different spin on this, please let me know. I have been able to prove this time and time again on all units at this point. You will only really see this issue with cav and hc of the defender is lower than lvl 10 AH. At least that is what i have been able to determine so far.

And by the way, this has been in the system since the beginning. It was not overly apparent until the advent of level 11 research and the huge disparities that it contains. I know SB is reminding Geoff every chance he gets to update a status or fix for this, but yeah, changing this dramatically increases the power of siege.

But hey, who doesn't want to see 300K cats kill like 20M mm.......
Why doesn't Kabam just fix this range bug AND make Magical Mapping affect melee troops in combat (like AH does for horsed troops). It would make things more consistent and would not make Cats too much over-powered, I think.
