Thread: Curses!

  1. #1

    Curses!

Now that you can Curse your enemies in Atlantis here is a bit more information about this new feature!

Players can obtain a curse by:

    Purchasing from the Shop
    Won in Fortuna’s Chance

    How they work:

After being attacked and defeated, players will see a new option to “Send a Curse.” If a player wishes to curse their attacker, they will click the “Send a Curse” button and a new window will pop up with Keres showing your available curses. Click which curse you would like to send and then your curse will be sent!

    How to remove a curse:
    • Using a Divine Light item will instantaneously remove all active curses and return status to normal with no effect on Nanos.
    • These can be purchased in the Shop or won through Fortuna’s Chance.
    • A Divine Light can only be used by selecting the option to clear you curse from the “You have been Cursed” report

    Things to remember:
    • You can only send ONE curse every 24 hours. The option to send a curse will not be available in battle reports for 24 hours once you have sent a curse.
    • Players who are cursed cannot be cursed by more than one of each of the four curses at a time.
    • Curses do not stack.
    • In the event the player you wish to curse has all four curses active, you can wait for a curse to expire and return to the report in your inbox to send. Curses will show as available in the curse list if the target player is no longer affected

Now that you know how to use this new feature, go use it!

ugh... seriously... just give the game to the cash shop queens why dont you. I mean seriously, are you trying to make all your currently non-paying players that dont have the money that might end up spending money on this game quit before they even get a chance to get ahead not to mention any experienced players that will end up spending money on the game eventually (which i was planning on with a rebate amex card that i got coming) quit out of frustration? I mean i like the idea and all but really, lets be fair about this for everyone instead of being biased and one sided on this game. I understand paying customers pay your salaries but i can instantly see how this can give them an extreme edge to really mess up someone and make em quit. Pretty simply put throw us non paying loyalists a bone or watch us walk and your community drop like a rock in water.

I agree. I don't have the money to play on this game so I feel like if I attack someone I'm going to be cursed. So basically I can't attack any cities just ANT camps. Seems kinda pointless to keep playing. I'll just stop and let my cities be farmed by the players that have put out a lot of money to get where they are. I already can't retaliate when I get attacked. Now even if I could I could (and most likely would) be cursed. Forget it. Bad idea.

It would be nice if you had included the curses and what each one does?

See you are get two bites of the same apple....you pay to curse, you pay to get uncursed...and please...Fortuna? How random is that.....at least put them somewhere on the map so those of us who don't have rubies have a fair chance of fighting off curses or winning them.

Each curse lowers production of a certain Resource by 25% for 24 hours.

    Locusts affects Food Production.
    Frogs affects Stone Production.
    Bats affect Ore Production.
    Worms affects Lumber Production.

Edit: It costs 9 rubies to purchase a curse and you can only send 1 Curse per 24 hours.
ReEdit: Curses can also be won from Fortuna for free like most other purchasable items. .

its a decent idea but it has one flaw it should be only alowed to send one curse per battle report 24 hours lasting that means if you attack them they can only send one curse and only one curse no curse after 24hours. cause they could just spam curse you every day just for what takeing 120k in resources which would annoying cause you would have to spend 100$ of dollar a month on the game just to get ride of curses

    Why not

Make them obtainable only by farming lvl 9's and 10's? then it would be more a lure to get people to spend for them than to leave the game.

Well that *and* rubies..... rubies still buy anything in game :|

thtas what the message said George and they SHOULD put it someplace where we can get it. Like lv 7+ camps or 7+ SOMETHING! Some comments are right. Ruby buyers will just buy curses and when we attack ow :'-(. The good thing tho is it is only per 24 hours

Meh, I really don't see the need. If you want revenge, just join a powerful alliance. Then if someone attacks you, ask your alliance members to strike back.

Anyway, I assume the curse only affects production, and not how much of an item you currently own? So if you curse someone, you're really cursing yourself; if your attacker isn't producing as much lumber because of a curse, he might as well just attack you again to steal more resources.
