domain merger... NEED clarity on "login" aspect to determine the domain chosen...

MERGER FAQ:

A: We will be merging the Cities from the Domain in which players have logged into most recently. For example, if Player X has Cities on two Domains that are getting merged together, this player will have to log into the Domain with the Cities they want to continue playing prior to the merge. Any training or building queues from these Cities will be carried over to the new Domain.

We will be providing players with plenty of notice as to when each Merge will take place. That way you can make sure you’ve logged into the Domain of the Cities you wish to keep. It should also be noted that the merge will take place over a period of days. More specific information as to when and which Domains will be merged to come.

i have 2 such domains which are going to be merged. and yet it is not clear to me what i should do. after the said notification... which is suppose to be... ? mail? another faq? or caravan announcement? to let me know when it is suppose to start... then ONLY at this time I log into only one domain (which has the better buildings and queued troops) and don't login my other domain and starve out the troops?

how long since the announcement will the merger occur? (supposedly "plenty of notice" may mean 5 or 10 days)? wouldn't it be more prudent since there will be state of flux and lots of confusion to turn OFF troop desertion BEFORE the merger AND after the merger? this way one avoids the another set of complaints which is bound to happen?

more importantly since we are NOT to login to the domain from which cities (and building within) are not going to be migrated... we are indeed abandoning them since we can't actively defend or manage the troops. would it also not be reasonable for the period of time since the announcement of date of merger to set domain wide truce. .. 7 day beginners protection for all if you will. each player has an option to invoke it till the merger is finalized.

and the above wording is vague. if i log into the domain which i only want the troops/items to be migrated but not cities... then i log into the domain which i want the cities to be migrated AFTER the merger date announcement... will i still have the domains CORRECTLy migrated? (not the other way around). up to when, the day before, can i login all the domain making sure that the last domain i log into is INDEED the domain which i want the city migration. will the migration tool that you use take a prelim-snapshot of the domains some days prior (to determine the login order) or will it discern the domain login order at the time of execution?

I would recommend using the Domain 'Change' dialogue to switch to the domain you want to continue (the one with the best buildings/etc) the day before the merger and not open the other domain at all for 24 hours - pretty sure you should have enough food stocked there (especially as raids will continue for 23hr 59min) to avoid desertion.

But that wil not stop players from attacking or farming that domain as the player will be offline

Well, you can risk being logged into both if you want. Cross your fingers, toes and anything else you can dream up, and pray that you keep the cities you want by some fluke. I'd rather not take the chance.

Personally I wouldn't want to see my domain with practically maxed out buildings in all 8 cities go by the wayside in favour of a domain that only has 1 lvl 12 city and no capability to produce cats in anything other than my main city because I was worried about a few troops and resources.

Guess it's your choice.

It seems pretty clear to me. Suppose they announce that the merger will happen on 08/20/12 @ 3:00 PM PST. On 08/20/12 you log into domain A at 10:00 AM. You log into domain B at 11:00 A.M. Domain B, having the most recent log in time would be the one to go to the merge.

However all of us long time players know Murphy's Law applies to pretty much any new feature KOC rolls out, and it would be wise to follow Glyn's advice and to only log in to the domain you want to merge on the specified date. That is what I am planning to do. If you have a dove and a horn use them to put your mind at ease.

i am talking about murphys law or bad luck. there is a trigger that was specified... .the most recent login. this requires that the login information be properly updated and more importantly WHEN Is this information gathered. as i have mentioned, the faq has no mention of when this information is collected. are you sure it is up to the very last minute or 15 minutes before or from the time of announcement? without knowing the criteria it is all spectulation and result there is a good chance that you may not get what you want and you will have to wait along with thousands of other to fix a problem via koc ticket.

what i am looking for is koc to clarify when is the very last time you can effectly login to the domain with no migrating cities and not have the merger outcome go the wrong way.

Maybe you should also consider placing all players into truce mode 24 hours before the merge so people don't attack those who are offline for the merger to keep there res and possibly there troops from being killed and stolen.

Also shrekker If kabam doesn't Id suggest using a dove.

I just hope the trigger is better then the one for building might upgrades, otherwise a lot of ppl are going to get really pissed

Why not inform people in a mail message and have the person choose what one they want to keep by selecting which one from a 'domain choose' page or something. It can't be that difficult to make. I've seen it when another game merged and people chose which account to keep.
