i agree who needs gold it is so easy to get but i can do 500 dark slayers in 14 hours so yes i did my 500 to see what the speed up is that can be the only good thing given with my luck it will be a blink. good luck to anyone that made more than 500 to win the chest for their alliance

The problem is that some players do care, as noted by the one positive response in this thread. Even some that do not care will train the Slayers simply because they can (as opposed to embodying some Olympic spirit of competition). And if enough players participate, Kabam can say: see, gold is important; all those complaining players in the forum are wrong; x number of players think it is valuable in the game.

I won't train 'em because I want Kabam to know what I value by the game choices I make. But this choice probably has as much value as gold in DofA. . .

From a pure marketing point of view if you actually wanted to encourage people to buy rubies to build DS you let 'em know what they are playing for to incentivise them. A limit of 3 medallions and 3 unknown speed ups will get people doing the bare minimum rather than attempting any Olympian endeavours - it positively discourages competition and is contrary to the spirit of the Olympics - we are not even told if this "exclusive" prize chest contains guaranteed "exclusive or rare" prizes or bog standard fair with the exclusivity being just one alliance wins the chest (big deal) - at least when you compete in the Olympics you know exactly what you get if you win and that, Kabam. is the INCENTIVE. LOL.

DOA GOLD/SILVER/BRONZE is not actual gold or double tax writs - the realms streets are paved with gold and these dross items no active player either needs or uses - and certainly if they can actually build dark slayers. DOA gold/silver and bronze are infusions/seals, deluxes/grants, and spectral altars/sacred bull/sacred bones and that is about it and the last two there are rather dubious. Guess everyone is going to wait out the first competition to see if the prize chests are much cop at all and save their tokens for infusion competitions where you are actually "guaranteed" to win a bit of bronze or silver.

The DOA Olympics should be the main event of challenges not some minor mystery event no-one knows anything about until its over.

    Marketing Strategy Facepalm guys, seriously.
OK, I get it that "Go for Olympic Gold" translates roughly to DoA gold, but I think the overwhelming majority of players agree that gold is pretty much worthless.

It should have been obvious to the powers that be at Kabam that any player that can train Dark Slayers doesn't need gold.

I couldn't agree more with Ace of Shadows - Gold level items = Seals/Infusions, Silver level = Grants/Deluxes, etc.

In my opinion, Day 1 of the DoA Olympic Celebration was quite a disappointment.

Hi, all! I just wanted to make clear what's in the Gold Medal Box. Though gold and the Double Tax Day Writ are just two of the items within the box, the box basically acts similar to a Fortuna's Accelerator plus the additional other items guaranteed in the mix.

To quickly sum it up, the contents of the Gold Medal Box are:

    - 200k Gold
    - 1 Double Tax Day Writ
    - 1 Fortuna’s Medallion,
    - 1 Glowing Shield
    - 1 mystery Speed Up such as a Blast or a Blitz

I don't know why people are complaining about this chest. It is actually not bad! I agree the gold and double tax writ are useless. But glowing shields, medallions, and mystery speed up are all not bad! It is better than the chance chest in my opinion. That chest is a complete waste of time.

A Blast or Blitz would be cool, but there's just a chance of getting them. Could just as easily get a jump or skip...

When is the Day 2 contest gonna be announced??

yes we have been focusing on the gold and double tax writ and because the box came with a speed up and madallion is the main reason i did the build i just will not use a good speed up until i know i am not getting a skip or blink. i hope your next build can be done with out speed ups like this last one.

Each event lasts for 24 hours. Since yesterday's launched at 12pm PST, today's will launch at 12pm PST as well.

Prizes should be absolute. We should know what they are in respect to the resources we will use to do the challenge. They should not be just a chance to win especially at the drop rates that kabam feels are good. If i wanted a chance to win I'd go to a Casino
