1st Place Winner: The Great City of Smores is No Mores by Spamregistrar
Atlantis suffered a devastating loss today at the hands of the Anthropus. The grand city of Smores has fallen. Founded 85 years ago, Smores was known as the "Sweet Sandwich City." It was most famous for its decadent chocolate, fluffy marshmallows, and crisp, yet not overly sweet graham crackers. In fact, Smores was the only producer of these delicacies in Atlantis; its destruction is lamented by sugar-fiends across the realm. Upon hearing about the fall of Smores, one Atlantean said, “Why couldn’t the Anthropus have taken out Fruitcake instead? The people there are nuts! We wouldn’t miss them.” Sadly, there were only a few Smoresean survivors. They reported that as they fled the city, they saw a great number of Anthropus brats roasting their precious marshmallows over the smoldering ruins of Smores.
Alas, poor Smores is no mores.

2nd Place Winner: Rest in Peace, First Cities and your Dragons by Dragonlover44
Today, all people in the cities of Atlantis go through their day with a heavy heart. Today a great blow was struck to all the civilised peoples of Atlantis. Today, the eyes of human and Dragon both shed a tear. For today, many good people and noble Dragons of Atlantis lost their lives.
The Anthropus attacked many cities in force today. Across Atlantis, cities were scarred by these barbarians and their vile ways. By far the worst hit were the First Cities, small compared to some others but none the less important. Lightly defended, simply walled, these cities fell in their dozens to the Anthropus attacks. And with the loss of these cities has come a blow aimed straight at the heart of Atlantis: many proud Dragons have lost their lives defending these cities.
First Cities may have been looked over by many citizens from the larger cities, but each one was important to someone. A First City represented the hopes and dreams of a new ruler, and the birth of another Great Dragon into the world of Atlantis. These Dragons, many still young or even un-hatched, did all that they could to stop the destruction of their homes. Yet, it was in vain, as no small Dragon can hope to overcome the massed strength of the Anthropus.
No one knows why the Anthropus have done this horrible thing. Anger at the magnificence of the cities? Jelousy towards the easy lifestyle of the cityfolk? Bitterness, at the bond we share with the Dragons of Atlantis? No one can say but the Anthropus themselves, and they will not speak with us.
Across all of Atlantis, memorial services are given and tears are shed. Many people and Dragons have been taken from us this day. They will not be forgotten, and the Anthropus will not be forgiven. The only comfort to the people today is that they know that now the people of the First Cities are where they have always dreamed of being. Flying through the skies of the Afterlife, alongside their newly born Dragons of Atlantis.
Rest in peace, people and Dragons of the First Cities.
3rd Place Winner: An Ode to Starlight by Lymal
An ode to Starlight,
There once was a city named Starlight, whose beauty was fairer than a dragon's flight.
Twas a sight to behold, both to youngin and old, though now the Anthropus watch it burn with delight.
Fire, Fire burning bright, poor poor Starlight, its citizens run with fright.
Now it crumbles, now it falls. Its Dragon cries as its city dies, death hanging like a pall.
To the skies, with all its might, it finds a camp which it smites. Now it flies into the sun, vanishing in a flash of light, its journey now done.
