Changes to make scouting more interesting

Currently if you scout someone you are guaranteed to be successful unless they are running Mists of Avalon. It seems a little unrealistic so I'd like to suggest an alternative.

There should be a possibility that the scouting attempt will fail. If it does so then the poor old scout is tortured and forced to give out their masters coordinates A model to determine to chance of failure could be introduced using Eagle Eyes and Watch Tower levels. It goes something like this. If the person doing the scouting has Eagle eyes the same level as the scouted person Watch Tower then they have a 50% change of scouting successfully. For each 1 level of Eagle Eyes above the level of Watch Tower then chances of a successful scout increase by 5%. So if the city being scouted has no Watch Tower and the person scouting has level 10 Eagle Eyes then the scouting attempt will have a 100% chance of being successful. Makes sense because no one is watching. For each level that Eagle Eyes is below the Watch Tower then scouting success drop 5%. So for Level 1 Eagle Eyes and a Level 10 Watch Tower there is still a small 5% chance of a successful scout.

Eagle Eyes vs Watch Tower = Chance of Scouting Success
    1 vs 10 = 5%
    1 vs 9 = 10%
    1 vs 8 = 15%
    1 vs 7 = 20%
    1 vs 6 = 25%
    1 vs 5 = 30%
    1 vs 4 = 35%
    1 vs 3 = 40%
    1 vs 2 = 45%
    1 vs 1 = 50%
    2 vs 1 = 55%
    3 vs 1 = 60%
    4 vs 1 = 65%
    5 vs 1 = 70%
    6 vs 1 = 75%
    7 vs 1 = 80%
    8 vs 1 = 85%
    9 vs 1 = 90%
    10 vs 1 = 95%
Any Eagle Eyes versus No Watch Tower = 100%

    Hope that makes sense

So please let me know what you think and vote in the poll.

I wouldn't like this because it would slow the game play way down. In a war where you are trying to be fast it could take an hr to get a scout if they are 20 min away. So I think it is fine the way it is.

Yes that would be an improvement

    I would add this:

You must use i knignt in order to perform scouting.
    Enable Multiple scouting
Knight XP would add to scouting success

I think the scouting success should be more than 50-50 when level are equal. may be 66-33
My preference would be that you have more chance to succeed than fail.

I like the idea of using a Knight and having that effect the scouting success. Perhaps that would be good enough to give increased chance of success but still keep the equal level option at 50/50? Let me know what you think. I agree you should be able to send as many scouts as you have open rally point slots. So consider that added to the suggestion.

One thing I forgot to mention was that a gem scout would always be successful. Each idea has to have some benefit for Kabam This would mean players may be more inclined to gem scout someone if they dont want to risk exposing coords or failing the scout.

@Gocuboss: I was also thinking after I posted this originally that scouts should be faster anyway. My wagons are now faster than my scouts which is kinda ridiculous.

    Thumbs down No change

They fail enough as it is when they are not meant to. Don't make it more likely for a failed scout.

I'd like scouting not to fail as it allows us to attack more.

Whatever acts as an enabler to attack cities more in wars is a good thing in my eyes.

A high level watch tower should give out the coords of the Scout though... as should the Rally Point allow multiple scouting.

I'd be happy removing the idea of scouting failure and just keeping a chance that the scouters coords were revealed. That really is my main issue anyway.

    Do not change it

Already scouts only show up 50% of the time because of glitches that prevent them from showing up in reports, if u were to add this to it it may take 20 times to scout because on the slight chance u succeed it may not show up, so this would enrage many players and may cause some to even stop playing which would be less mobey for kabam cause not many ppl r stupid enuf to spend money absolutely evry time they scout, and for those who cant afford gems they would be at a huge dissadvantage because they could never scout. Leave it the way it is

The only changed would like to see is a reason why scouting has failed. I have seen scouting attempts fail on a player for over a week. It could report back saying the mist prevented us from seeing, or whatever other reason it is. In this particular example, it caused frustration and disinterest in playing the game.

There are far more changes that could be made to improve game play, such as buildings getting damaged and defences being far more effective. They offer nowhere near the protection they claim to. You should also be able to reassign soldiers to other alliance members. It could be capped in some way, but it would facilitate far more communication in alliances, which would result in more game play. All members in my alliance that communicate with each other are addicted and ultimately do spend money. Even I have spent about £17 which is not like me at all!

There are already threads on each of the other topics you raised.
