If you want to make your HC harder to kill, focus on LIFE Bonuses and ATTACK debuffs.

Due to the low starting values for DEFENSE, it take a LOT of them to really make a difference. LIFE and ATTACK start out MUCH higher, so a little bonus/debuff goes a LONG way.

Yeah, the cards seem to fall at about the same ratio as a bowl of mixed nuts...the ones noone really wants are most plentiful...and as they get to be more exotic/expensive nuts...your find fewer and fewer.

But...let's look at the two stats that make your HC "hard to kill"

HC start with a BASE DEFENSE of 87 and a BASE LIFE of 2000.

Now, hypothetically speaking...if you wanted to double your HC's Life...you would either need nearly 2298% DEFENSE bonuses or 100% LIFE bonuses.

    87 + 2298% = 1999.26

    2000 + 100% = 4000

How does 87 + 2298% double your life? Well, the attacker basically has to get through your DEFENSE before it actually takes off of your LIFE. So, with 2000 DEFENSE, you have essentially doubled your life. But, really...2298% worth of bonuses...and that is if your opponent doesn't have any debuffs.

LIFE bonuses are just as easy to find, and you need less of them to make a MAJOR impact.

It all depends on what you want your hc to withstand.
With a net 25% attack debuff and your opponent does not have an active ore guardian.

net 700-800% defense buff you are in the range of topping arch and pike attack stats
net 1200-1500% you will be in the range of topping lc attack stats
net 2500-3000% you will be in the range of topping hc attack stats
net 3500-4000% you may be able to top baly attack (may also require your opponent to have a lower lvl knight)

With 3 defense cards with at least 2 lines of defense you are looking at lvl 5 cards for the arch and pike lvl 6 cards for the lc. I have no idea what is needed for the higher levels beyond that but I think it is safe to say you would probably prefer multi-line range cards at that level.

And yes if you are looking to go against seige or opposing hc you are much better off with life.

Defense does not equal life. As you increase your defense you decrease the damage dealt. When your defense tops attack stats damage is reduced to 1 per hit (not extremely hard against arch and pike). That means it will take 3000 hits (assuming lvl 10 healing pots) to kill 1 hc. Life buff alone can not get those results. But against a cat when you have to reduce the attack by 2000 points to get an extra hit (roughly 2298% def) the 100% life buff is much easier to get.

Just because someone is an "Expert Member" in the forum doesn't mean they know what they are talking about....It just means they're talking.

Yeah...was just giving the plain and simple explanation...didn't really mean that it actually doubled life. Just an "in essence" explanation.
