As far as I know items (not TR items) only start dropping when you hit other players if you gain at least something like 2k glory in the hit.

It used to work without the glory requirement, but...

If they had made the game without so much emphasis on tedious repetitive tasks and random blind chance, then there wouldn't need to be scripts available to use on the game.

Level 4 and above ascension will happen the very week after I decide to use my DP's, SP's and SI's on my lvl 3 ascended cities. 100% certainty.

The game has long since departed from the vaguely realistic. If it ever was.
