Moderators are all posters on the boards, and are all volunteers. The moderators attempt to act professionally, and make decisions as a group, but they are all individuals. Don’t expect the moderators to be perfect, infallible machines – that’s just not realistic.
All moderator activity, including warnings, bans, and suspensions will be made in red text. Period. That way there will be no mistaking a joking comment for an official warning, and warnings will be unmistakable.
Just to repeat that:
Normal Text: Moderator is speaking as a poster. You should respect them just like any other poster, but you don’t need to give their messages any extra attention. Moderators will participate in discussions. Sometimes they might disagree with you, or have bad ideas. That’s okay.
Red Text: Moderator is speaking as a moderator. Respect their warnings and correct any rules violations immediately, or face further action. If you disagree with a moderator’s red text, talk about it in the Moderator Discussion forum.
