Kabam Community Forums FAQ

Here you can find answers to questions about how the board works. Use the links or search box below to find your way around.

Moderators

Moderators are all posters on the boards, and are all volunteers. The moderators attempt to act professionally, and make decisions as a group, but they are all individuals. Don’t expect the moderators to be perfect, infallible machines – that’s just not realistic.

All moderator activity, including warnings, bans, and suspensions will be made in red text. Period. That way there will be no mistaking a joking comment for an official warning, and warnings will be unmistakable.

Just to repeat that:

Normal Text: Moderator is speaking as a poster. You should respect them just like any other poster, but you don’t need to give their messages any extra attention. Moderators will participate in discussions. Sometimes they might disagree with you, or have bad ideas. That’s okay.

Red Text: Moderator is speaking as a moderator. Respect their warnings and correct any rules violations immediately, or face further action. If you disagree with a moderator’s red text, talk about it in the Moderator Discussion forum.

Moderator Action Notices

Any suspensions and bans will be announced in the Moderator Discussion forum, using this format:

User XXX was suspended for YYY days for comments in (link to thread)

Any thread that is pulled for moderator review will be announced in the Moderator Discussion forum, using this format:

(Thread Title) was pulled for Moderator Review.

Backstage

Moderators have a private forum to discuss their decisions, called Backstage. This forum is completely closed off from normal users.

If a moderator says they’re going to "take an issue backstage,” this means that they are going to talk to the other moderators about it. They may give you a response later, but they are not required to.

Levels of Moderation - "Sanctions"

There are a number of different actions we may take against users, called Sanctions. Questionable offenses, or behavior that merely skirts the rules, will be treated comparatively lightly. Clear and problematic breaches of the rules will receive much more severe attention early on. In any case, repeated offenses will rapidly escalate the severity of the sanction.

If none of the sanctions are appropriate to the offense in question, it’s entirely possible that a new sanction will be created for that offense.

Appeals

All moderator or administrator decisions may be appealed to the moderator community as a group. To do so, create a message in the Moderator Discussion forum. For suspensions and bans, there should already be topic in Moderator Discussion.

Please note that frivolous appeals may result in the moderators taking further action, as a violation of Rule 7 (Respect our time). Before you make an appeal, make an honest effort to step back, calm down, and understand why we needed to take action against you.

Administrators

All Administrators in the forums are Kabam employees. We rely on our moderators to keep the boards civil; as a result, you should not expect Kabam employees to respond directly to your help requests or feature requests on the forums. If you need assistance from a Kabam employee, go to the game itself, and use the ‘Help’ link at the top of each game window.

Search FAQ

Select this option if you would like your search to look in the text of FAQ items as well as their titles.

Select an option here to specify how you would like your search query to be treated. 'Any words' will return the most numerous but possibly least relevant results, while 'Complete phrase' will return only results that contain exactly what you are searching for.
