Pros and Cons: Alliance Restructuring

So a wicked cool thought crossed my mind when I was submitting my 3 ideas for the future of EdgeWorld... Alliance restructuring.

In my new system idea, alliances would have 50 members, not 100. They would be able to take less than half of the bases, 10k instead of 25k.

Thats basically the entire premise of it. Smaller alliances. Here's my look at why its better than now.

Pros! :

More alliances! That means more dynamic alliance relationships, more selective membership, and closer-knit communities within each alliance. Members wouldn't be kept in alliances for score, either. Its all about activity. This also means more war and more competition on map!
More alliances on map! 8 alliances on the map minimum instead of 4. Alliances could develop relationships with each other to help each other on map, because it would be harder to stay on map in a smaller alliance. It increases diplomacy!
Less domination from one group: One alliance of 50 members wouldn't be able to have a huge dominance on map - and even if they could, 10k max bases would keep them contained well. A REALLY strong alliance could just pick fights with everyone and stay on map with sheer force, which is uber-fun for everyone.
I'm sure there are more. A lot more. This system seems fun and fresh compared to what we have now.

Cons! :( :

Alliances would have to be disbanded to start this: Yeah, they would. And?
Its harder to stay on map, since you can't have a REALLY REALLY active alliance with 50 members. Well, its also easier to protect 10k bases than it is 25k. And its easier to attack alliances, too, since they won't be as active either. :)
Harder to maintain friendships and keep an active alliance: Friendships come and go, active players have always been king. Keep your alliance active, have more fun.
I bet there are more of these too...but I think the pros definitely outweigh the cons.

I would like to hear from other players and see if they like it too. I would REALLY like to hear from Nick, and ask if this is in the realm of possibility. It would be so much more fun, its almost too good to pass.

C-2 Availability

With all the anger and frustration flying around with the NEW graphics and flickering problems, everyone seems to have forgot about the C-2 drop rate. Our sector still doesnt have too many C-2 bases and I (and many others) are wondering if it will ever be available through grinding like A-1, or if it will start showing up in Zoot more frequently?

Sniper Turret not functioning during Sim or during Hales' skill, what's wrong?

Problem 1: My Sniper Turret does not fire at all in ANY sim except when they see Berserkers.

Problem 2: When I tried using Hale's premium skill, Sniper Turret does fire but their targets receive ZERO damages.

Make the Game Richer by Adding in Game Commerce

Edgeworld, as it is now, is very limited in game play. Here are some ideas to make the game one people can play for years.

First, introduce in game commerce.

One way this can be done is to create vital resources needed to play effectively. For example, water, air and food could be introduced to start along with production facilities and ways to boost both quantity and quality of production. Player's use a new in game currency to buy these resources from producers at whatever price is negotiated. Make the new currency convertible to platinum at a rate that while not easy to reach is also not impossible to reach (perhaps 100 new currency to 1 platinum or create a floating exchange rate that adjusts as the new currency increases).

It is important that the new vital resources can not be bought in the store and that if the base of production is destroyed then so are the new vital resources.

Second, increase the map size to unlimited.

This allows for exploration and if a player or alliance goes far enough they arrive in a new sector.

Third, related to the above make hidden nodes.

Maybe some nodes are suitable for mining or extracting vital resources. Water worlds or worlds where air is richer or food production is easier. These vital resources can be produced on any base, but on these hidden bases production doubles and quality increases.

These are just some quick ideas to keep this game interesting for years to come as the current mode of play is getting stale.

A year or two ago we had a forum thread "last poster wins", I suppose its time for another one. To make it relevant, I think we should guess the next core Kabam will introduce and for what.

Cerulean Core, Incendiary Core, Pulse Core, Decimator Core, Onyx Core, Synthetic Control Core, Vermillion Core, Ruby Core.

Did I miss some? Think got 'em all.

So, next up, login core! Come'on Kabam, you know you want to do it. Only 35 platinum and make people buy login cores so they can log in more than once a day to "dominate the galaxy!"

P.S, have a bit of courtesy and try not deleting my thread. There is nothing wrong, disrespectful or against forum rules that I have said.

By combining the sectors, new super all powerful alliances made up of 90% platinum players just lays waist to the rest of the sector.

Those who like to build their bases by not buying thousands of dollars in plat just can not keep up any more.

I am watching 2 guys well over 80k take back what took us all morning to take, some 3000 bases, seeing them literally taking 70-100 bases er minutes just makes me want to vomit in your mouth Kabam...

What the hell were you thinking?

You need to lower the maximum base limit to 10k, so that more alliances have a chance at enjoying some kind of map presence let alone rewards...

Something seriously needs to be done, because the game mechanic is just broken plain and simple.

I am severely dissatisfied, and the general consensus is that many others feel the same way on this subject.

Can't something be done to limit just how much longer this continues.

Main shield generator affecting A1 base

Got accused yet again of cheating and received a friendly incident report number from the player. I am a player that shields his a1 base currently because I won a 30 day shield. I enjoy making it difficult for people to take my main with the a1 shield helping to protect the main. Out of fairness, I now attack people's main first - since that's all they can do on me. If I beat the main, I'll hit the a1 afterwards for the skillpoints and force points. After hitting this guy's main - and killing the shield generator - I attacked his a1 and destroyed the command in 14 bombas. He complained to me - complained to kabam too saying no one has ever taken his a1 in under 30 bombas, definately not 14. and then he shielded his main for 8 hours. I later attacked his a1 only after everything repaired - and it now took 27 bombas instead of 14. so the main shield DOES shield the a1 now -

i tested this on another player and the result was similar. after talking to lots of regular players - many insist the main shield still does not affect the a1 base. but - they all say that the a1 shield affects the main though.

so this is both an fyi and an inquire. i tried to find an official post by kabam but there's just too much to go through on the shield subject in the searches. can anyone find an official thread about this subject by kabam so i can give the link to people in my alliance and others accusing me of cheating? and if this is old news for some - sorry - but it's not old news in our sector and people i mentioned this to today still don't believe it.

Ok, it seems that the reaction to the unannounced & unneeded “upgrade” to gun graphics is kabam screwed the pooch. However there are other and older issues that were implemented that hinder normal game play.
Nic, I am requesting your feedback and updates on what programming staff has to say on this.
These issues should be able to be resolved and we can move on to other subjects in the forums.
1 Above all else room to move & do things has been hindered by the ever growing base area.
There are a few ways to fix this but my suggestion is to add a third size adjustment to the view. Instead of close & far make the options close, medium (what far is now), and far (the new far).

Or return the larger area around bases feature that went away long ago when Cerulea had more plants. The base can simply be dragged around to expose other sections that are hard to get to.

2 this is a flash game not everyones computer can handle all that is crammed in this game. Perhaps it is time to add a toggle motion button for game settings.
Normal base player maintenance
- The left side shield, combat boost, and resource icons pop up the use/buy window when you click up to 3 time the distance away from them. They SHOULD only activate the use/buy window when directly clicked on.
A simple reduction of the area that responds to clicking limited to JUST the shield, combat boost, and resource icons should surface.
- The right side build, research, and troop que bars. Dear god help me if I need to upgrade or move a building on the right corner of my base.

Attacking
- Troop health bar. I really want to drop troops on the top right side sometimes but I can’t. Can the troop health bar exist without stopping me from dropping troops? Basically it’s solid & I want it to be a hologram with no substance
- That bottom center corner. I WANT TO ATTACK THERE! … but I can’t & that sucks. At one time in this game I could but now the jumbo troop choice icons on the bottom just take too much space and are not combat drop friendly..
#1 above can fix this.
- The warp gate bar often goes off the screen for high level warp gat battles. Perhaps this could use some tweaking

If there are any constructive additions other players can make to this please do so.

Dear kabam

If you try to play a very full base with the new turret graphics you will quickly see that it is largely impossible to distinguish one turret - type or level - from another at anything but mouse over close inspection. It means that every time I need to start a build, I *literally* need to mouse over a large subset of my turrets to pick the right one - which happens to take way too long!

Kindly bring back the old graphics asap and restore appropriate game play. Honestly, this is an insult to people who spend a lot of time playing Edgeworld

First I know you want us to spend more, but since the merger even guys between 20-50K cant compete against all of the 80K+ players, so I came up with a few ideas to keep us happy and help us get a little bit more competitive:

1. Have a 2x exp point event ONLY for players 50K and lower
2. Reset the defense simulator again to help us get prizes and catch up
3. On PvP instead of limiting attacking the higher players, have the higher players be limited to NOT attack a certain % below their level

And BEST of all:
-have split tournaments so lower levels play each other and higher levels only play each other example: 1-50K, and 51K+

I know none of this will happen as its way too much work to split it all up on server, but we can all talk and wish together

what is it with you guys at kabam??? you keep adding new things and new art (which is nice) but we still experience the same old game problems . why wont you fix the chat problems and THEN add new stuff? the group chat has not worked for a month or more, and very often have to refresh because the chat starts "one wording" it is ridiculous!

not to mention all the ram all this new stuff is taking, i recently upgraded my laptop to meet the demands of all the new stuff, then you go and add more stuff and graphics and now i need to upgrade yet again, this game is starting to cost more money than it is worth. good luck to you kabam, soon you will have no customers to sell all this crap to.

Definitely seems so. Had a constant feud hit me with the same troops he's always hit me with who is 9-10k lower. Even with my A-1 down, they couldn't even break 70 buildings. Now with this new update, they were able to take almost double that plus my CC. What the hell did Kabam do to this game?

Lvl 17 already??? New Core???

Me along with many people in my sector think Kabam is going waaaaay too fast. 5 lvls, lvl 10-14, all required c cores, and recently they came out with the v core for lvl 15 and 16. Now there's going to be new core for lvl 17? Kabam could at least make lvl 17 cc cost 2 v cores, and not an entirely new core that people have to buy.

2 I-cores for a L17 gun upgrade? fine but we realy don't get our moneys worth from that. if it costs 2 cores then give us 2 cores worth of upgrade not a wimply gain.

We have just released new artwork for some of your existing turrets. Players who have cached game information with the old turret artwork may be seeing the turret artwork flickering, or other visual issues.

Do not submit a support ticket. All you need to do is to clear your browser's cache, and refresh the game to clear up the issue and see the new artwork.

We have asked many IMPORTANT questions in many of the forum threads, but all you are answering to other threads are things that are not important to most of the players.

Kabam is avoiding to answer CRITICAL questions, and DO NOT FOLLOW it's rules, posted here in the forums. People here are pis*ed off, because kabam's lack of responsibility and laying out clear rules that effect everyone. Now there are two set of rules. Official rules that free players must abide and no rules what so ever for platinium buyers. We have asked clarification for this over a year now. Still no answer, exept the reported cheaters, bullies etc go unpunished, if they had buy platinium.

Here are forexample 2 forum threads that I started that needs kabam's input... but still nothing.

Players need info on things like these:

1. cheating/Bullying... 100k higher person constantly locks your base, attacks 2x5min and 2x5min to both bases... if come out from the bubble on one of the bases can attack immediately again 2x5min, or need to give a break if only one base is used. like 2x5min, and waits 3 min, till the base is out of "ash" and attacks again 2x5min... and the person does this for several hours, as long as you are online. and starts minute or two, after when you have come online.
(also, this happens like a clockwork, which refers to macro being in use)

2.Same player attacking multiple players at the same time and doing map at the same time too... this requires at least 2-3 web pages open on same account. is this legal to do or NOT. if it is illegal to do so, why kabam has not banned these players?

3. Player is online 24/7 LITERALLY, only solution here is some sort of 3rd party software in use, if this is illegal, why you have not banned the players?

4. Attack repots are missing... getting attacked 6 times by this person, and only get 1 attack report. (This kind of activity, refers that the player has refreshed the browser window in the middle of the attack, which keeps the attacked person under attack until the timer runs out. When this kind of thing happens to me, that I have refreshed the webpage, most of then accidentally, I get 6 min ban, which prevents me attacking. Other people are talking same thing, that they get 6min ban. IF one gets 6 min ban, how on earth he/she can attack immediately on map and other players? the only way I see this happening, is using hacked software. Even after this has been reported to happen, you have done NOTHING)

5. can a few 3-7 players where most of them are inside a bubble, really take 17.000 bases in 24hours, while doing the locking attacks on players? If you have only main and a1, where atleast main is in bubble. and a1 is attacking 5min attacks to players, can still take 17.000 bases in 24h? if this is possible, can you tell us how, because math does not check out...

6. If one person attacks you 30-60 times a day when you are ONLINE, is that considered bullying or just plain "normal gaming" I would consider 20+ to be pretty much bullying...
6.1, can you open multiple browsers and do this to 2 or 3 player at the same time?
6.2 and also use the alternative accounts too, so that you can freeze 5-10 people at the same time?

There are IMPORTANT question now, and these question have been asked and yet they go unanswered. Is it so, that if you would answer these questions, you would loose ALL the people that are trying to play this game fairly.
On the other hand, if you would enforce your rules as you say the rules are, you would lose majority of high and midrange players. Which affects your revenue, since lower levels must use lot's of platinium, trying to compete with these higher levels, which are due to cheating...

This game will most likely be dead in few weeks if these issues are not clearly solved.

Kabam, sadly you are now between the rock and a hard place... tough decisions needs to made, and IMPORTANT questions needs to be answered.

Kabam is getting any new players in edgeworld - losing money, people like to plat on the first day of sectors.
People who DO join don't have any fun because everyone is a WAY higher level, they can't take map, can't get an alliance, etc.

I wanna know why they shut down new sectors? Is edgeworld finished?

Can someone please explain to me how incineraptors work? I've been doing these def sims and sometimes they take damage and die really fast, other times they just sit there. Sometimes I'll have a whole bunch with next to no health because of splash damage and then one who still has full health. Sometimes they get stopped by concussion effect. Sometimes they don't care about it at all. Are these things just completely random or is there a trick I'm not getting?

What do customers of Kabam have to do to get customer service from kabam? I play the game without bullying or being abusive to other players, I am active, and I buy plat way more than I should. I submit tickets (with videos or screen shots) of bugs and play issues so that game play can improve. Most people just complain about it not working but I take the time to give Kabam information that will hopefully lead to solutions. Due to the merge my account has not been fully restored. Multiple tickets have been submitted but they keep getting closed when they have not fixed the problem or they are ignored. It has been 12 days! I want to continue to play this game but unless my bases are fixed and my tickets are resolved completely how can I justify continuing to give Kabam my money? It is ridiculous that paying customers (or even the not paying ones) have no other option but to submit online request for help with no way to contact a live person. I just want my bases back with all the items, troops, upgrades, and research that I was entitled to.

I just had to post my observations on how BAD of a business strategy it is to allow customer support to fail at the levels it is currently failing. I have owned several business over the course of my working career and I never would have allowed customer questions to go unanswered and ignored in the way that this company currently is. It does not matter what their long term plans are for this game, weather they plan on shutting it down tomorrow or next year the customer support of the game should continue at the very highest possible level. It is just simple good business to take care of customers as much as possible. From a sales standpoint It is a nightmare to try and sell service when there is no one around to take care of the customers. You may get a sucker to bite once but you will not have repeat and continued business which is how you grow. The brand as a whole can get a bad reputation from a single game.

In this age of computer everything people really gravitate to companies and services which offer that personal touch. The phone companies were the first ones that I remember getting really bad with their customer care and automating everything. It was an idea that was sold as a "cost effective" way to handle customers. In reality it alienates, frustrates, and angers people not to be able to contact a "real" person about any problems they may have.

Every one of the people that play one of your games, weather they have spent $0.00 or $1,000.00 is a potential customer with $ to spend. To treat them with the disregard that I currently see in this game platform is inexcusable from a business standpoint. These customers will not spend money on this game when they see the lack of response and the horror stories that are currently happening with the server mergers. They will also NOT go to other game platforms that this company has and spend money after seeing the lack of customer care in this game.

I have owned businesses. I would NEVER have tolerated any of my employees treating customers in the manner that I see here today. They would have been fired and replaced without hesitation. The path this company is currently going down may get a quick buck today, but long term it is a recipe for disaster.

I know I am rambling about the same things over and over... It is just sooo hard to understand why a company does things like this. It is so self destructive that I just can not say it often enough or in enough ways. I'd love to buy the company right now just so I could fire a bunch of the people involved in this kind of bad decision making.

OK I'm done rambling.. Time to go find something else to do since the majority of the bases I built have been destroyed by the mergers and since I have not been able to get any response other than auto reply type stuff from anyone I guess I'll go see what other games my kids have found to play :P

This very well could also clear up many cheating accusations if people can see that they faced strong stroops or L3 troops.

there are several grey area situations in kabams rules. Nic, at what point do these grey areas become a red light?

These grey areas should be explored and ruled on so we can not go too far and snitch on others that do go too far.

Multiple bases are a good example but are in no way where the grey areas stop.
Is having 1 or 3 alt profiles a grey area and 5 a red light? is it ok if they are in diff alliances but not all in the same alliance?
10 alt profiles ... makes ghosting easy and giving the 72 hr creating a new alliance cooldown a big middle finger.

how about playing with 3 browsers open and attacking to slow a player with 1 and fighting on the map with 2? grey area or red light.

The part exploit with multiple browsers - extra upgrade trys on the same parts grey or red.

I do understand that some grey areas are harder to catch than others but we would realy like a little more firm stance from staff on how far is too far.

Perhaps it is time to offer chance boxes with better odds for higher cost

Go ahead and sell a cerulean mystery box for 15 plat but also go ahead and market a "lucky" cerulean mystery box for 45 plat that has 3 times better odds and does not have the cheaper hated prizes.

On June 5, 2013 I submitted a ticket (details below) but did not even get the automated response stating the ticket had been received and giving me my new ticket number. Please respond!
This is in regards to ticket that I submitted last Friday (May 31, 2013).I received an email stating that I should hear from Kabam within one business day. Well after 5 days (3 of which were business days) I enquired as to when the issue would be resolved. Evidently they closed the ticket without resolving the problem and did not tell me that they closed the ticket.
The problem relates to the merger of sectors: Duck Nebula, Blue Flash Nebula, July SaltandPepper, and Pisces Dwarf to form the new sector Hagan Hungarias. I had an account on each sector. My main account was on Duck Nebula and I was logged into that account at the time the merger started. It was a level 1166 with 455,903 power. There is no way I would want an account that was merely 10% the level of the one on Duck Nebula. Which unfortunately is what happened. I ended up with the account from Pisces Dwarf which was only level 106.
I want my main account back. I have stopped playing the account because I expect the resolution to the problem will reverse any play I would do. I want to resume playing before I fall any further behind on the new server.

Oh, I have also submitted another ticket. Hopefully I will get a response and resolution to the new one.

Attack reports missing, why, Nicholas can you share any light to this?

Thou every attack has ashed my bases totally... and put me inside of the bubble, which I come out when I attack somewhere else...

Is this because this player is 100k higher than me?

or as other people say, this is a result of multi browser attack, which I could also understand, thou this would be violation of TOS, and considered cheating....

Why this bothers me is:

1. that I do not get attack reports of his attacks,
2. His attacks last minutes, with this kind of level difference, 100k, he should be able to clear my base in matter of seconds... as before merge, people in 20k higher than me did, and still they said my base was "tough" considering my level...
and now after the merge, attacks from this high lvl player takes a lot of time...

Nothing is lost. Only characters being truly "lost" are inactive characters lower than level 50. Almost all of them are level 1 or 2 and are unnamed.

Everything else just gets "hidden" and can easily be brought back else, worst case scenario. We have the tools in place to make sure that you'll be just fine.

yeah, the sector where I used to play was pretty much free from map hacks, every now then one could see it, but now, after the merge, only people on map are the cheats... bubble people taking 5000 bases in couple of hours... one bubble guy blocking 7 attacking persons...

getting 6min bans, from map bases, player bases, "xp battle damage too high", not fixing the bugs... but hey, now there are new tokens...

Zynga is already kicking 20% of their people out...
if this trend what kabam etc. are doing, it will kill this kind of gaming industry...

I have 3 accounts that were all screwed up in the merge. Kabam made the merge on a Friday night with what appears to be little to no support on hand. I submitted a ticket for all 3 accounts. They closed 2 saying that they were the same as the first but they are different accounts. I got 1 response from support saying they were working on restoring my bases. Since then I have sent two more request for an update and have received no reply. I have spent A LOT of money on this game and have not been able to play for 4 days! Another Sector Merge SNAFU

Thanks Kabam for the surprise sector merge today. You gave no chance for people to record their current status so they could confirm if their account was merged properly. No chance for alliances to communicate to members about what the new alliance would be. Your going to get a lot of players wondering why their account was restarted when they login. Not to mention you have players that were hit with the merge on Friday that have been waiting all weekend for you to straighten up their account and now you are racing to screw up more accounts before you fix the fiasco from Friday.
Just a suggestion please actually give the advance notice you said you were going to give on sector merges - maybe even send a mail message to everyone involved with a merger 3 days ahead of time stating that their sector will be merged and the 24 hours ahead of time reconfirm the merger is taking place in another mail message. And if you guys are not around on the weekends for support then do not perform sector merges on Fridays so the day after the merge people can get the merge problems fixed and not have to wait days for the problems to be corrected keeping them from playing for the duration time they have to wait for the merge issues to be resolved.

Question: Is the Banner Monument's speed reduction effect, when activated by an enemy in range, suppose to also be slowing down the defending base's turret fire, once the fire is passing through the activated range of the Banner Monument? I don't know if the effect just creates a lot of lag, or what, but it seems to be slowing down my fire also on my sims. If it is intended, I don't see the point of having it taking up valuable real estate if it cancels itself out via an equal effect to my own fire.

Engineering Lab part Upgrades

Has the chance for successful part upgrades in the Engineering Lab been lowered recently? Last couple of days I've been seeing higher than normal upgrade failures. Normally, level one upgrades have been around 60 percent successful. I'm seeing now a 20 to 25 percent success rate. It appears the upgrade success rates on higher level parts have dropped even more.

Kabam, please rework the game. Folks pay a lot of money to get good defenses, that don't do anything. I shouldn't get taken out by a player half my size and they use 15 bombas. You should look at other similar type games and get ideas from them.

Tribal Wars is a good idea for how bases can be stacked and defended. In that game it can take 15-20 attacks to take a base off the map. Should be the same thing here. Allow as many attacks as it takes. Once a players base is taken off the map, THEN they get shielded.

The offense of the game is so much better than the defense, yet the defense costs SOOOO much more than the offense. Makes no sense right now.

Lastly, not my idea (The Boss's) but its a good one; allow us to defensive research against the generals to combat their skills.

Surely you can afford to give us C-2s now?

i have worked my butt off on my base with lvl 15 and 16 guns with parts added and a player 20k below me can take me with a lvl16 general and 25 lvl 9 bombas ....sorry but with all the plat and time in my base and i get taken by a player who is 20k below me....wtf........so whats the use in spending plat or trying to upgrade your base when a noob with a lvl 16 general can just take you in less than a minute.......kabam needs to figure out what is going on this is crap.........god i wish they would just give me my money back.....if they aint gonna fix the power diff whats the use in gaining lvls when the lvls dont mean anything:mad:

Nicholas/kabam, What is the point of A1 and C2 bases, if you can not attack them, well can attack them, when I do, I get 6min ban. I mean high lvl player bases, where I can ash the base, but I get xp too high error and 6min ban, and I loose critical warps, hard to do map when you get bans all the time and you can not reset your warp by attacking hi lvl player...

this is where the merger fails, and makes it disaster... another good idea turned into disaster, by kabam...

Seasonal Troop Boosts

I think it would be cool if troops got a boost depending on the month or big events that are going on.

A lame example I was thinking about was if the Titans win the Super Bowl this year, which is a huge longshot (sorry Titan fans), then the Titan would get a huge boost in power, temporarily upgrading their heath and damage for all players. Around 4th of July, because of rampant Fireworks, Bomba would get a small boost. Shrike would get a boost around a big NASCAR event because of their appearance as a fast racer vehicle. Marines would get a HUGE boost on Veteran's Day. You see my point.

It is a nice way to bring life back into troops that many people consider useless. It would be only temporary for the troops, so it would allow people to train the right troops in anticipation of an event for that troop.

Just my thoughts. Would love some feedback.

Seems to me, that the map doesn't really work. You can spend hours and hours hitting the map with virtually no effect because those full time players will crush the life out of you over night. There is nothing more depressing than seeing 5000 bases dissappear in 24 hours. Now this is partly because some alliances have a lot of very active players, or/and there are a few cheaters too. Not really my point, the point is becoming a zombie and hitting the mpa every night over and over is BORING and exhausting.

Im not complaining that some alliances have loads of squares and get loads of prizes, fair enought, they are spending and working hard enough. What im asking is that Kabam find a mechanism that allows smaller alliances who have less full time players to participate in the map.

Could kabam find a way of allowing smaller people to participate on the map please. Thank you.

Saved 2 Vcores and accelerators to upgrade my CC from lv14 to lv16 in one tournament! To my horror I started my lv15 CC upgrade and used the necessary accelerators to upgrade instantly! 10k force on a on a Lv15CC upgrade during a x4 building bonus! They have now nerfed the game with one intention only! To find the most efficient way of increasing their $200mil annul profits! How can the last tournament earn me 8k+ for lv12 Incendinary and this one only 10k force for lv15 CC. Kabam! Eh what a bunch of bankers! All con artists come across like they have your best intentions at heart. Only for you to find out, after you have been stung!, that you were sadly mistaken! Plat spending in our sector is now down to a handful of players with more money than senses! I have brought 4 lots of 1000plat bundle but like most players who have been around from the beginning I will no longer be buying any more! As I was left every time with the feeling I'd been well and truly ripped off! Whether it was boxes I brought, the colonies I got or the fact that after I had spent the 1000plat I could only see a small benefit gained! The cost of 1000plat in the same as a new game for my PC or a night out with friends! Shame because I like many would happily pay to play if it was actual value for money! Shareholders= Bank ownership! Bankers= Thieves!

I loved the last force challenge prizes and force scores. I played really hard to get the elite weapons box and other prizes. Then now you delete some of the best prizes (v core and hackers patch) and then make the elite box unattainable. I barely squeaked out 200k last tourny to get the box after hours of playing now there is no point in trying at 500k. Way to make people stop playing and get discouraged...

Please bring back original prizes and forces scores. I really played hard and enjoyed being rewarded. It made me want to play again. Now it's just pointless..

Didn't take long for Kabam to really screw up Force Challenge Rewards

So this new way to gain items was great. People like me that were never going to win a Force tournament (because I don't spend 3x the amount of the top prize in plat to win it) finally had a way to EARN something by working for Force points. They could have been better if Force from battles was part of it, but overall, still an improvement.

I did fine on the first two. I used SP to upgrade generals, accels to finish buildings, and upgraded buildings I didn't need (resources) to get up to the Elite Weapons Box. There were some nice prizes along the way. The Hackers Patch and VCore will really help, but the Elite weapon was the prize for me. I would have suggested some minor changes. I think more players still need a CCore over the VCore and the top prize of a 2.5d accel seemed a bit of a let down after the Hackers Patch, VCore, SIngot and Elite Weapon Box.

This morning, I was happy to see a new one started right away. There was a little delay between the first two, and things completed during that window were effectively wasted. However, this time, it seems like they had it programed to start immediately. Good work there. That is where the praise ends. This new challenge has dramatically increased point requirements. They offset some of that by giving 4X for building and research. That's great for newer players, but if you have almost everything researched, you lose out a lot there. Of the building and research slots, the average player will have 2 building slots. Main and A1. C2 still isn't available for free, so the majority of the players don't have it (I'll get back to the C2). Then, most players are limited to the number of CCores they get, and there are a lot of things to upgrade with those. Just to unlock the higher levels of research, you need CCores for both the Command Center and the Tech Lab. Then you need SIngots for the upper level research. If you have all that, and haven't already maxed out the then you can go to town on these upgrades. Don't forget that you have to spend the same in A1 just to research the Bomba, but are not allowed to research anything else there. So likely you are down to 1 usable research slot. Then there is the Defense Lab, which also counts as research. Most players will have maxed this out at level 9, because who can really see the benefit to spending cores on a building that has almost no impact on the game. Kabam routinely adds new things to the game that lets you destroy bases, so researching a few points of damage off of a deci is unlikely to actually result in killing a deci. I honestly haven't seen a difference even in the Turret Control upgrades.

Back to the C2, if you happen to have it, (I got mine from Zoot, who I think was drunk that day) you have 1 extra build slot, 1 unusable research slot and 1 defense research slot. I say the Tech Lab is unusable because just like Terracks, Lancers, Pulse Tanks, Deci and Beserkers before it, you need a specific core to research each level. In playing constantly since these were released, and in multiple sectors, I have won a single core and a single Battle Cruiser in different sectors. Not the same rate you win the other types of cores. Therefore, only paid users will be doing this, and there has been debate over the usefulness of this unit over Deci. All in all, the average user will very limited to how many build and research slots to benefit from the 4x Force.

The prizes have gotten dramatically worse, with the requirements for the higher tiers doubling. The premium players are already going to win the tournaments, along with the new daily prizes for being in the top 3. Now they have taken out many of the useful items and replaced them with junk. I don't know how many pulse cores and control devices you need, but they've got them. I give it another week before they start replacing the 30%, ICore and SIngot with GPS and +25 Sim boosts. Way to go Kabam, you introduced something good, and once again, screwed it up.

I bolded the important parts, because I know some people have a short attention span and won't read more than a sentence or two.

Just want to create a post for exchanging our experience on defense :P

Even though defense is useless against a Lv. 16 Hale/Storm. Let's just assume you are defending against a normal player / Sim. Which type of guns-part combination do you guy uses?

Let's not talk about combination with Smart Parts as most don't own one -- will lose the purpose of sharing with the majority of community. Elite engineering parts should be reasonable as they can be obtained through Force Challenge every 3-4 days.

For me, I prefer Gun Turrets over Sniper Turret. as Gun Turrets have better rate of fire, plus their range is nice once reach Lv. 14. I don't have much Elite Parts but if I can make one, I prefer Target(9) + RoF(80) + Damage(1400).

Also, we can build much more Gun Turrets than Sniper Turret. That was taken into consideration as well.

Any thoughts? Feel free to share your experience with Gun Turrets / other guns!

I have created a web application that is downloading data for all the players in the top 40 or so alliances in each sector. I update the data once a week and I publish a leader board for each alliance and sector as well as for the entire game. I currently have a regularly updated overall Edgeworld alliance ranking based purely on alliance power level.

The player leader boards have three categories:

Total Player Level
Level gain over the last week
Percent of level gain over the last week

I have a history of player levels and what alliances they have been a part of and individual graphs showing each player's level progress. It really is a great tool for alliance leadership to understand their players and recruit the best.

at 300k in current tourny, the reward is a 2.5 day accelerator. Exactly how much time is that supposed to be?

A normal person would assume 2.5 meaning 2 Days, 12 hours... but that is not the case and is very misleading.

You may well have cost me the tournament as a result. Defense lab upgrade from 9 to 10 is 2 days, 4 hours. A Standard 2.5 day accelerator should have completed the building, but it left the build time at 8 hours.

I ask you how that is possible?

So when the battle cruiser plat offer came out, also about the same time the rewards changed up, I decided to purchase some for the cruisers and Onyx core in my sector where I have the C2 base. Well not only did I get the warp boosts and troop energizers instead of the actual new bonus items but I got no battle cruisers. I contacted kabam support with my receipt as a screenshot. So what do they do....give me 3, instead of 10, cruisers in a different sector! So now not only do I not have the core to research another level but I didn't even get the correct stuff to the sector I purchased it for and can't do anything with the sector I don't have the C2.

Of course when I reply to my ticket with the issue that it has not been resolved I get nothing back. Nicholas is busy replying to forum posts so I guess he doesn't have time to reply to my PM asking what I can do to prove I paid for something I did not receive. Any suggestions on how to get this resolved? I feel like I went to the store to buy Cocoa Puffs, opened the box and there were Cheerios inside.

I haven't found an answer to this in the merger FAQ. So, what happens to a building that is in progress and is scheduled to end after the merger? I have a building in progress that needed a c.core to build and I don't want to lose it.

Turrets not working properly

Today after the sector merge (which worked very well basically. Good work Kabam! :D) I found out by doing some sims, that my turrets don't work properly. Mainly I'm talking about snipers. I have a lvl 16 health/rof/splash part on them but at some sims they seem to sleep and not firing at all.

Nic and Kabam Team, could you please take a look?

How many FP does a 400-day Disruptor queue yield now?

I know Kabam nerf-ed the the FP for troop training. But for how much? (A friend of mine trained a 40-50 day Disruptor queue few days ago and receive only 100k score)

And finally, is Disruptor the best troop for FP @__@

i was told to check the forums because it can take up to 10 hours sometimes less for the merger to complete, and the forum would tell me when i can return to my profile without incident - but after scouring the forums numerous times - i don't see threads on previous mergers being done etc etc - i've check tons of categories and am a tad frustrated - not under news and announcements either...

can someone direct me to the forum path for nicholas' instructions on when the merger is complete - a search gives back too many results - i'm not getting younger here lol

Troop Training XP cap, is it +250 lvls?

i have been previously training my troops at 30-40 days queue.
but i have noticed that the XP given by those queue lengths are just the same with any queue @25 days and up.

so is +250 levels the cap?

hace 15 dias desaparecio mi base en la fusion, he reclamado varias veces esta situacion y hace 4 dias mi juego esta bloqueado para ingresar. se me bloqueo la paguina de facebook para el ingreso. sera esto una coincidencia. mande ticket y no he tenido ninguna respuesta. mi pregunta es si este bloqueo no sera a mis molestos e rincidentes reclamos al mal funcionamiento y mal desempeño del servivio de soporte del juego.

Resource depots

Can I deconstruct some of the depots on my main base?

I only want to leave one and transfer resources across from the colony when they are needed. I would rather have the space they take up for guns or something else.

There doesn't seem to be a deconstruct option - even when they are totally empty.

I'm TH=PNC from Sculptor Dwarf. (but I have more high lvl players on this account.)
I was hitting map as usual, I attacked a lvl750 base with 3 decimators lvl 1 , I took half of the base then I get a message on my screen saying ''damage_higher_more_than_troops'' or anything like that, I refreshed cuz my base was loading forever, then I see my screen'' Your account has been suspended.'' OMG , I never cheated or anything like that, all the time I spent on this game and so much other things are gone? OMG I WANT MY ACCOUNT BACK! I'm not lying I'm just one more Edgeworld player who LOVE to play this game , but get a unfair ban, have a lot of cheaters cheating on my sector and I battle them, and EW ban me ? huh I'm bored a lot, I been playing this game since the beggining.

yesterday one was advertised in the features above the chat window - something about free plat and accelerators - stated it ended today - my teamate wants to buy it but the feature 'ad' is gone - and neither of us have any idea if this deal is now over or good till tonight etc... don't want to buy without a deal -

is there a thread on current plat deals in here somewhere? i didn't see it - and this deal was not emailed within the game or outside the game.

i do wish kabam would bring back plat codes to enter in - we've got players that were regular buyers and won't buy anymore because of this. some of us prefer to get the 50% off rather then pay full pop and get an incineraptor or time accelerators - best to let us choose and buy what we want. for myself i wont buy without a code - if codes were offered i'd probably spend $15 or more a month - but right now that much money buy's nothing worth bothering in this game -

anyhow - some direction on the above would be great -

Wanted to ask if all rewards that are claimed will be earned from Force Challenge? Or, from this tournament will be earned only the highest reward that is archived with force points. For example: A player archives 50k FP. Will he take all rewards that are green colored or only the last one that for this example would be Scarbide Ingot.

Merger Quesiton

So Nicholas in Forum clearly stated that if you have 2 accounts and they merge together all inventory will be transferred to your main base{last one you log into before merger}, so does this mean I can go to another sector that i have not been to yet and take advantage of the beginner's items and stock up on a bunch of 99% accelerators, and they will be transferred to my main. Before i purchase a bunch of these I am just making sure what Nicholas said is true. Any one tried this yet?

the IAVA crate is a cool idea,
BUT
i guess i must be stupid as i can not figure out where the 200% saving is.
A 50% saving is where you pay half price
A 75% saving you pay a 1/4
A 90% you pay 1/10th
A 100% saving you pay NOTHING
A 150% saving you pay NOTHING and get half the price back..
A 200% means kabam pay us full price to take the item..hmmm...nice
ok the crate costs 99 plat, the contents are worth 295, so you save 196 plat.
Admitedly the price you are saving is almost 200% of what you are paying..
but thats not a 200% saving...
the amount your saving {196/295} is 66.4% NOT 200%
would anyone from kabam care to explain to a simple person like my self what i am missing??

I think it's pretty ridiculous that defense lab upgrades on bombas don't seem to have any effect with respect to splash damage. I have it upgraded to Lvl 16 for bombas and that's pretty much worthless in terms of offering any protection from them. I think that needs to be changed. The defense lab upgrades should have more of an effect...and in the case of bombas, SOME effect.

Im sure many of you guys caught me through the topic only.Yes im talking about the building force.
After reducing pvp force down by 95% ,now building force is down by 33.3% ???Really ??
Not only that just noticed that anti tank turret gives 8700 force normally for level 10 but during x3 building force tournament it given the same force point which directly means you guys decresed the force by 2/3 of the actual force and added x3 which at last gives the same amount of force we were used to get from a NORMAL upgrade.
And this is all just because of new prizes right??
Whose ur next target for reducing force??Troops??Eng Parts??Or generals skills??
This thing only did one good thing now which is now its Hard to earn 300k force more than earning 1million force before.
My favourite type of force was PvP ,u guys reduced it by 95% then i loved the Building tournaments and its down by 33.3% now.

Logged in this morning everything ok, well as much as the game can be lol, anyway, I noticed that all my completed missions have returned, showing I have 3 more pages of missions to do, however I have completed them already, eg Research Titans Level 9 DONE but is it now showing as not completed.

I know this is another bug / issue.

NEW MISSION: Are the rewards worth it?

The level 9 and 10 research missions were released today. My comment really pertains to the missions that say research Marines, Rhyno, Raiders, Pyros, Hornets, Titans, Strike, and Disruptors to level 10. (I skipped spectors on purpose because higher researched troops provide more force so at least one is worth upping)

Why spend a valuable Scarbide Ignot on a mission that gives 300k xp and 25 marines? Considering yesterday i use one warp and got 2.6 Billion taking an A1.

I can't think of any, but I do have a suggestions for kabam to make it worth it.

1. Add a daily mission called Mission Complete, with a reward of kira gifts, encryption keys, zoots, or something along those lines that can be collected daily once all of the missions are complete.

2. Make the rewards worth it, a C-Core or V-Core, or Deci Rack, would make many players more then happy to use a Scarbide Ignot on a otherwise useless troop.

Missing Force and level Gain Upon Sector Merge

My name is 'z9' and I was a player on Antlia.

My sector was merged into 'TKO CROSS' and during the merge I had 2500 titans training which I had going for over 30 days, and was going to finish in like 10 hours, and this would gain me like 400 levels and LOADS of force.

When I logged in today all my processes were finished but I did not gain any XP or Force.....

I'm really upset because I was really excited for my 2500 titans to finish and gain me loads of levels, now I get nothing
Could Kabam please compensate me for this and give me the levels and force, thanks.

I was just wondering if anyone got their banner monument up to lvl 16 and got the unique banner that was suppost to be awarded by today. :p I know that i got mine up to lvl 16 before the promotion ended, and believe i was probably the only one on my server(world) who got it completed. Sector Merge and A1 (Maar faction hit counts)

So here is the deal.

Prior to merging our sector last week, I had around 320+ (legitimate 1/3 my level or higher) Maar hits on my way to winning the Aurora base. The attack counts out beside each Maar base showed as such.
Now, after this merge, all faction attack counts have zero'd out.

Question: Do I have to start all over to try to win that Aurora again or did my attack count carry over?

KABAM Please take into consideration on sector mergers...

Please think long and hard when as you continue to merge sectors. I have heard stories from people that their sector (High average players 20-50K) merged with a sector that thad players well over 75-100K. That sucks cause if you spend all your plat over that last two years on developing a base based on your current sector and now a few powerhouse players come a long and anahilate you and win all the tournament Plat

Hi I am over 100k in lvl and I have had a 40k player and a 100k player wipe my base,
BUT 1 of them wipe me with 1 marine and the other that was 40k wipe me with his general as there was no troops put into battle,

Now iam not calling anyone a cheat BUT more or less all my guns are lvl 15 / 16 and have lvl 12 down to lv l8 parts on them my base was fully wiped is this possible I know the generals are strong but this has to be wrong.

kabam you ''NEED TO FIX YOUR GAME'' why pay for troops if the general is this strong and what would be the point of us getting our guns upto lvl 16 if they are still crap,

AND FOR A 40K PLAYER TO WIPE A 100K PLAYER WITH NO WORRYS THEN IT IS FACT THE GAME NEEDS FIXING

Happened quite often.

Usually happen when I visit a damaged base and finish the battle very short, then in the next battle I will get an error message (see image below).

Anyone else experiencing the same issue? FYI I use NO multi-tab. I prefer to relax and enjoy the game...

I barely play other than to log in once per day and keep my builds going, claim rewards and check the map. I certainly didn't do anything against the rules.
